History of Buckley gamings

Like Baker, Pat Buckley rebuilt machines in addition to manufacturing slots such as BUCKLEY BONES, a dice game, and TRACK ODDS, a popular horserace machine. He originally began rebuilding and selling machines in the old Burnham and Mills plant under the title of Reliable Coin Machine Exchange, renaming it Buckley Trading Post in the early 1940s. After the war he began recasing early Mills machines, using his own BLACK CHERRY castings. In 1947 the Buckley CRISS CROSS BELLE was introduced which paid 18 coins in any position, making it the forerunner of the Jennings tic-tac-toe payout. The following year Buckley built a newly-designed case and his own mechanism, containing parts interchangeable with those of their Mills counterpart. Pat Buckley continued to manufacture slot machines until the late 1950s. Previously his two brothers had come to Nevada in the late 1940s, Hubert to Reno and John to Las Vegas, to operate as the Buckley Vending Company. Back To Buckley
