Stephen Squires is the wizard of slot machines and does not hesitate to share his knowledge with others. I am retired and love to tinker with anything mechanical.
I recently purchased a mid 40’s Mills High Top machine with the intent of restoring it. The machine worked ok, however I discovered the reel strips were not original and did not match the payout card. Little did I know, that was not all that was wrong with this
Machine.
Upon entering Squires & Corrie I was greeted by Stephen and given a tour of the store. I never imagined the quantity of parts he has for older slot machines. If it exist, he has it or he will make it in his machine shop.
Stephen examined my reel bundle and found that it was not consistent with the pay out card and one of the hubs was loose. He repaired the hub, replaced the star wheels, the reel disc’s and the reel strips to correct the problem. He also pointed out some potential problems in the mechanics that needed attention.
Thanks Stephen, I have the machine back together and it works and pays perfectly. I could not have done it without you assistance. As “some” actor and politician once said,
